Beginning August 17, Glenwood Park residents and businesses can expect rolling lane closures and travel delays between Glenwood Avenue and I-20. These closures will take place over two weeks to enable the construction of interim safety improvements on Bill Kennedy Way (BKW).
The Bill Kennedy Way Interim Trail project includes improvements to the existing bridge over I-20 and the addition of a protected multiuse path along BKW through Glenwood Park to the Glenwood Ave intersection. Once complete, this project will provide improved travel options for bicycles and pedestrians to connect from the end of the Eastside Trail to the interim Southside Trail entrance.
