Update from Commissioner Tim Keane, Department of City Planning

Atlanta City Hall is closed to the public and employees. Therefore, all staff are working remotely.

However, construction in Atlanta continues, so we are working on new ways to serve the hundreds of residents and businesses we support everyday since so much of our work was facilitated by person to person interaction – either at City Hall or at specific job site locations.

Regarding zoning and building permitting processes, please see our update from last Friday, March 20.

We expect to make significant progress in the next 7 days shifting more new submittals to online interactions. Stay tuned to our website and social media for more on those services next week.

Regarding inspections, we now have a private 3rd party inspection program and you can read the instructions here: 3rd Party Inspections overview.

Starting Tuesday, March 31, we launch a video inspection program which will be an option for some inspections. For instructions on video inspections, click here.

Farmers Markets also continue in Atlanta as an essential service providing fresh food in many parts of the city. Here are guidelines for Farmers Market operations during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as a list and map of Farmers Market locations in Atlanta.

All of our planning and design projects continue. Stay tuned to our website and social media for more information.
