Thanksgiving holiday solid waste collection schedule changes

The Office of Solid Waste Services will be closed Thursday, November 25 in observance of Thanksgiving. There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard trimming pickup on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday collections will occur on Friday, November 26. Friday collections will occur on Saturday, November 27.

Please Note: Due to public health concerns, staff is operating on a hybrid remote schedule. City facilities are open to the public for certain in-person transactional services listed below. All individuals must adhere to the current mask mandate, which covers all indoor facilities. All other services will continue to be operated virtually until further notice.

The Code Enforcement Section is responsible for the inspection and enforcement of residential and commercial properties that violate the Atlanta Housing Code, Graffiti Ordinance, and/or Commercial Maintenance and Industrial Code. Properties are inspected for violations such as:

  • decayed/damaged leaking roofs,
  • holes in flooring (both inside and out),
  • broken window glass; flaking/peeling paint,
  • rodent infestation or unsanitary conditions,
  • overgrown, littered vacant lots,
  • junk/inoperative vehicles,
  • graffiti,
  • electrical hazards,
  • open and vacant structures,
  • dilapidated buildings, and
  • numerous other deficiencies which render properties sub standard, or unsafe to its occupants or the general public.

Temporary Eastbound Lane Closure: Glenwood Avenue SE from Brownwood Avenue SE to Moreland Avenue SE

WHAT:

Temporary lane closure for the resurfacing of Glenwood Avenue SE west of Moreland Avenue SE 

WHERE:

Glenwood Avenue SE from Brownwood Avenue SE to Moreland Avenue SE

WHEN:

Weather permitting, the lane will go into effect at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021, and remain in place from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. until the resurfacing work is completed. Local access will be maintained for the duration of this project. 

 

DETAILS:

Please observe street closure restrictions. Motorists should pay close attention to the “caution” and “slow” sign. In addition, please be aware of traffic control personnel in this area
