The City of Atlanta is reviewing the annual solid waste fee for solid waste collection, recycling charges and related services. A report completed in December 2021 provides three different fee adjustment (increase) methods for consideration; all intended to overcome an annual operating deficit of between $20M to $30M.
City Council will make a decision on this issue by the end of June 2022, before the 2022 solid waste bills are sent out. Fees could increase by 20% to 50% depending on which approach is adopted.
