Due to staffing shortages that continue to affect the solid waste industry nationwide, the Department of Public Works (DPW) has taken immediate, aggressive action to address challenges with collecting yard trimmings. As a result of two successful hiring events, DPW is placing more crews on routes and projects continued increases in crews over the coming weeks to ensure the timely collection of yard trimmings. DPW continues to collect trash and recycling in a timely manner and is addressing any missed collections in those areas quickly once identified.
