From the City of Atlanta Department of Transportation:
Below are the scheduled start of four (4) sidewalk and ADA-compliant ramp installation/maintenance projects in your districts on Monday, January 4 (weather permitting).
The projects and scheduled construction include:
- Danforth Road SW between Niskey Lake Road & Regency Center Drive:
o Replace beauty strip color concrete section of existing sidewalk
- Waldo Street SE between Berne Street & Killian Street Drive:
o Replace damaged sidewalk caused by uprooted tree roots
o Upgrade pedestrian ramp at intersection for ADA compliance
- Auburn Avenue NE between Randolph Street & Gaspero Street:
o Upgrade existing pedestrian ramps for ADA compliance
o Install new ramps for connectivity of existing sidewalks on the east & west sides, and for ADA compliance
- Lake Forrest Drive NE between Wieuca Road & Parkside Court Drive:
o Install new ADA ramps for connectivity from Parkside Court on east to Chastain Park trail on the west
Door hangers notifying area residents of possible driveway access and parking restrictions have been distributed in the project areas. Please encourage residents to move their vehicles from the areas prior to the construction activities to avoid having their vehicles towed (Georgia Code 44-1-13).
Construction will take place between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Local traffic access will be maintained for the duration of the construction.
