Atlanta City Council meetings return to City Hall

On Monday, April 25th, the Atlanta City Council will return to convening committee meetings in Committee Room 1 located on the second floor of Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave SW.

The meetings will be conducted in accordance with the City’s Charter, Code of Ordinances, and the rules of Council as adopted for in-person meetings. More information, including committee meeting schedules, is available here.

Atlanta Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy

Applications for Class #40 of the Atlanta Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy are now being accepted.

Classes will be held weekly, on Tuesday evenings, between May 3 and June 21, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Police Headquarters, 226 Peachtree Street. The deadline to receive applications is Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

City of Atlanta Citizen’s Police Academy

Registration is now open for the next session of the Atlanta Citizens Police Academy beginning May 3rd, 2022. The program is limited to 25 participants and includes twenty-plus hours of skilled, professional instruction delivered in three-hour sessions. The program encourages participants to provide feedback necessary to foster enhanced police and community relations. For more information and an application form please click here.

Overview of legislation passed by Atlanta City Council on March 21, 2022

Among other items passed today, the Atlanta City Council adopted legislation during Monday’s meeting to urge the Atlanta Police Department to enforce City Code Section 150-88 (a), which allows for the removal of vehicles or requires the driver or other person in charge of a vehicle to remove a vehicle parked in a bike lane.
