Eastside Trail Updates

BetlLine projects continue to move forward, including smaller, trail-related projects.

Adjacent to the Eastside Trail, the Gateway Trail serves as a connection to Historic Fourth Ward Park. This connection will be closed and rebuilt as part of the redevelopment of the Georgia Power site by New City Properties. The closure will take place in the next few weeks. At that time, construction fencing will be installed, signs will be posted along the trail and we’ll add updates to our website to keep you informed. Construction work could take up to a year, but the park will still be accessible from North Avenue. The new connection will include stairs with bicycle runnels and an elevator as seen below.

If you have any questions, please email engage@atlbeltline.org and stay tuned for additional updates.

Moreland Ave/Glenwood Ave Intersection Construction Update

The city is pleased to alert you to the impending start of the Glenwood-Moreland Intersection Improvement project in your districts within the next 30 days (weather permitting).

In addition, the project will include the restriping of Glenwood Avenue to accommodate a left turn lane for the eastern (westbound movement) leg and shared-use bicycle lane connectivity.

Notices for the following project are being sent to the constituents in your districts:

  • Moreland Avenue SE from Metropolitan Avenue SE to Portland Avenue SE  and  Glenwood Avenue SE from Brownwood Avenue SE to Florida Avenue SE

For more information on this project, your constituents can email: ATLDOT@atlantaga.gov or call: 404-330-6165.
